The Emotional Safety Checklist

Emotional safety doesn’t mean you never disagree or get hurt. It means the relationship has enough trust, respect, consistency, and accountability to work through those moments without constantly threatening your sense of security.

Ask yourself:

âś“ Can I express how I feel without fearing his reaction?
âś“ Do his words and actions match?
âś“ Can I say no without being punished or guilted?
âś“ Does he take responsibility when he hurts me?
âś“ Can we disagree without threatening the relationship?
✓ Do I feel respected when I’m vulnerable?
âś“ Can I relax and be myself around him?
✓ Do I trust that he’ll show up consistently?

Emotional safety isn’t boring. It’s what allows intimacy to deepen.
